Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi
have sold their breathtaking Bali-inspired estate on 9.24 acres in
Montecito in less than a month for $33 million as reported by Dirt.
The celebrity power couple, who listed the residence in October for $40
million, had only lived on the property since January 2019, paying $27
million after negotiating it down from $35 million according to Mansion Global.
It was built in 2011 and first hit the market in June 2017 for $40

“quintessential California indoor/outdoor comfort”, with, “Luxurious
Balinese & Asian-influenced design.” The 8,188 square foot main
house includes 3 bedrooms, 3 full and 3 powder rooms, while the 1,365

The grounds are as impressive as the residence with tropical plantings and a remarkable 60-foot x 18-foot basalt pebble infinity pool overlooking spectacular panoramic vistas of the ocean. Flipping homes is nothing new for Ellen and Portia. In recent years, the couple made a substantial profit after selling their 1930s villa designed by Wallace Frost. The couple purchased the historic property in 2013 for $26.5 million and sold it in 2018 for $34 million. American actor Rob Lowe also recently sold his incredible custom built Montecito residence for $45.5 million. Ellen and Portia’s Montecito estate had been on the market for $40 million with Riskin Partners Estate Group of Village Properties.
